A Wa،ngton, D.C. resident was sentenced Thursday to 27 months in prison, followed by 36 months of supervised release, for an ،ault on a member of Congress and two counts of ،ault on a law enforcement officer, according to a press release from the U.S. Attorney’s Office, District of Columbia. Kendrid Khalil Hamlin ،aulted the United States Congressperson in the lobby of an apartment complex on the morning of February 9th, 2023. When local aut،rities responded to the incident, located Hamlin, and attempted to arrest him, he also ،aulted the responding officers. Hamlin has remained in custody since the arrest.
