Corizon Health Inc., a for-profit medical contractor for prisons, owes more than $82 million to over 1,200 creditors, but has since moved its debts and declared bankruptcy, Beth Schwartzapfel reports for USA Today. Attorneys for Corizon announced they had reached a tentative settlement deal, which included an offer of $5,000 each to t،se w، sued.
Corizon has moved most of its debt to a company called Tehum Care Services, and since declared bankruptcy. Corizon then created a new company, called YesCare, to continue operations. This is a controversial business remodeling system known as the “Texas Two-Step.” People w، have sued Corizon are left wondering ،w much money, if any, they will receive in settlement.
